Five years ago, Carl Johnson left behind the pressures of life in Los Santos, San Andreas, a city plagued by gang violence, drugs, and corruption—where film stars and millionaires do their best to avoid dealers and gangsters.

Now, it’s the early ’90s. Carl has to return home. His mother has been murdered, his family has fallen apart, and his childhood friends are all heading toward disaster.

Upon returning to his neighborhood, Carl is framed for homicide by a pair of corrupt cops. CJ embarks on a journey across the entire state of San Andreas to save his family and take control of the streets.
